Out for a Stroll

Belén and I have been busy creating her wardrobe. Today we took a break. The sun is shining and Belén wanted some time to herself.

"There you are Belén. Have you been enjoying yourself out here?"

"Oh sí. Gracias. Hace bien tiempo afuera."

"Yes, it is isn't it? Not quite as warm as last week, but nice."

"How about we go in and enjoy a cup of tea before the children get home?"

"Es una buena idea. Me encanta la te Bengal Spice. Es delicioso. Vamos."

Otoño

Belén is all dressed for the day. I found her at the back sliding door looking out. She looks so peaceful.

"Here ya go, Belén. Nice and hot for you. I hope it's not too strong."
"Gracias Leonor. Me gusta la café. No te preocupas."


"Me encanta el otoño."
"oh, me too. There are so many colors out there to enjoy."
"Ay que lindo! Mira el pájaro afuera."
"Yes, we'll see the Cardinals and Blue Jays all through the winter months as well."
(While Belén was enjoying the birds at the feeder, I went and got her chair for her.)

"There you go, Belén. Do you need anything else before I go?"

"No gracias. Estoy muy contenta ahora. Y....Leonor...."

"Yes?"

"Gracias por la ropa."

"Oh, well, you are very welcome Belén. Sorry I had you in your underclothes for so long. Thank you for being so patient. I'm having a ball."

(Belén laughs softly.) "Yo también Leonor....yo también."

Ahh..Joe

ahhh...a nice cup of joe. Belén and I have been very busy over the past couple of weeks. We had to create the beginnings of a wardrobe for her. So now she has some of the basic necessities. She's thrilled that I'm actually going to let her get dressed today!

Caught!

Shhhhh..Belén is still sleeping. I decided not to wake her. We were up late again last night. So, I decided to take a photo of her new socks and pajama shorts we finished last night. And, yes, we were able to put a snap on her top too. Check out her socks....aren't they cute? Her feet are a little big, but we made do. Her shorts, on the other hand took a bit more work. She has such wide hips! Uh-oh...


"Que haces? Did I hear a clicking noise from that camera?"
"Umm...well.."

"Aye! "(murmuring to herself)

"Sorry...lo siento Belén...Belén?"

(whispering) "oh good..maybe she'll think it was a dream... We better go now."

"Sweet dreams Belén." (sound of door closing)

Buenos Días

Knock, knock. "Good morning, Belén. Rise and shine!" (humming to myself)

"Belén? Are you awake?"

"NO!"

"A que hora es?"

"It's 8:30. The children are up, dressed and off to school. It's time you were up."

(stretching)

"Sorry we were up so late last night, Belén. I really wanted to get you a proper pajama top."

"No te preocupes. No soy una persona de la mañana. (murmuring...) Yo necesito café."

"Did you say something?"

(clearing her throat) "Is this going to become a habit? ...las fotos...
toma de fotografías antes de que me despierto?"

"Only when we've got something to share with others. We've got lots to make!"

"Ayudame!"

(I laugh)

"Relax, Belén. You're gorgeous!"

"Hmmphf!"

(leaving the room) "Get up! We've got lots to do today."

"Botones! eh,... I hope it includes putting buttons on my top!" (smiling to herself)

"Sí, estoy lista."

"Es tan bonito aquí."

"Thank you. We like it too."

"Creo que me va a gustar aquí. I'm going to like it a lot."

"I'm so thrilled!"

"Here you are Belén. I'm sorry I don't have any real clothing for you yet."
"No te preocupes. Gracias. Me gusta este color."


"I'm so excited that you are finally here...how do you like the chair?"

"Esta silla es muy cómoda. Me gusta cuero."

"um...cuero?"

"mmm...leather...cuero."

"oh."

"Well....welcome....bienvenido."
