Another Letter

Belén joins me in the main house while I continue to put away Christmas decorations.

Belén makes herself comfortable on one of the benches by the windows.

(humming and vaccumming in the background)

"I see another letter came in the post for you today. Is it from Will?"

"¿Perdoname? Lo siento Leonor."

"Oops! No, pardon me Belén. I was just asking if this letter was from Will as well."

"Sí...eh, umm..I like when William takes the time to write to me."

"Don't you talk online every day?"

"Oh yes. But,...it is not the same. When he writes, he takes the time to really think about what he wants to say to me. It is more intimate...eh,...more romantic. No?"

"Hmmm....I guess so. I know I love it when my hubby writes to me. He used to write me poetry. I'll have to dig them out for you. They're wonderful."

"A poet? Your husband? No me digas...hmmmm...I like that. I like that a very much."

(laughing in the background) "Yes, I guess I do too."

The Gift

Belén and I have been busy creating new patterns and outfits for her. Today, we are going to snap a photo of her new sweater outfit (long skirt and cowl neck sweater). Belén wants to show off her present from her beau, William. She's hoping she'll like the photo well enough to send it to Will for Valentines.

"Oh! Belén you are here!"

"Today we take a photo of my new outfit and Christmas gift yes?"

"Yes, yes, yes. Let me just get set up."

"Do you think he'll like my present?", asks Belén softly.

"Who? Will? Does he have eyes?"

(soft giggles from Belén) "¡Claro Leonor! I just want this photo to be perfect."

"I think he'll love the photo, because you're in it."

"You are too kind Leonor. Be sure to get the necklace. Please."

"Let me see....yes, I can see the necklace perfectly. Stay just like that. Are you ready?"

"Sí, estoy lista."

"Alright then. Sweet thoughts for William."

"So lovely Belén."

"Gracias Leonor."

Celebrating the New Year

(Knock, knock) "Hola Belén, prospero año nuevo."

"Hola Leonor. ¿Que tal?"

"Muy bien, gracias. I like what you've done in here."

"Gracias. Me gusta la cama. Es mucha mejor...mas grande que la otra cama."

"Yes, I agree. The larger one suits you much better. Am I interrupting?"

"No, no. No te preocupas amiga. mmm...I was going to journal, but I cannot think what to say right now."

"¿Quires té?"

"oh sí...si quieres tambien."

"Bueno...vamos a la sala. Necesito un sueter."

"Ok, estoy lista. ¿Y tú?"

"Sí vamos."

(Belén and I enjoyed some tea and sat relaxing in her living room.)

"I like the new furniture. It fits nicely. What do you think?"

"Oh sí, sí. Todo es muy cómoda Leonor."

"Well, I should be going. I have more things to do today."

"I'll see myself out Belén. I have some more ideas for this room, but it'll have to wait for another day."

"ya ya..no problema. Hasta mañana Leonor."

"bye!"
