A Good Read

McKenna has decided she'd like to read in the quiet of the woods today. She grabs her favorite novel and a shawl. She hopes she can escape the castle without seeing any of the servants or her parents.

A little Obsession?

Well,....maybe a little. 26 pairs of tights. Whew! I just couldn't help myself. I have about 6 shoeboxes filled with recycled clothing. Once I finally had a tights pattern that worked, the fabric started jumping out of the boxes waiting to be next. LOL! So, my gals are shirtless, but they have tights!

For now, I'm thinking about putting them on Etsy to see if anyone is interested in just tights. Meanwhile, I'll see what accessories want to be created next. Muwahhhhahahah!

I may have just a little too much time on my hands, waiting for my foot to heal. Oh well. I finished Season 2 of BBC's Robin Hood and have jumped to Season 1 of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. Lots of great costumes to please the eye..not to mention Sully.

A Tight Fit

Mwah! says Hannah to her l'il sissy, Lilly

I've been on a tights kick. I spent the past several days finding fabric, cutting and sewing tights for these gals.

Lilly just doesn't understand why I can't sew an entire outfit. LOL!

Look What I Can Do

Hannah thinks the scarf I made for Belén is so soft. She thinks it would make a great blankie for her bed.

Lilly likes the little cap I made, but would prefer a large one so she can still have her hair.

By the end of the second day, I made this little corded bib overalls and a nightgown (shown below). The bibs are a little baggy for my taste. I will need to tweak the pattern a little.

Lilly is modeling the nightgown. I took two different patterns and combined them to make this long sleeved night dress. I can see this being a great base for other patterns.

Well, that's all for now. I need to rest. Perhaps I'll indulge and enjoy back to back episodes of BBC's Robin Hood (Season 2).

Starting the Year on the Right Foot

Well, Santa was very sweet to me this year. I received a fantastic sewing machine with a personalized letter from Mrs. Santa. In the note, Mrs. S. said that she truly appreciated how much my DH and family loved me enough to make this special request to her elves on my behalf. She encouraged me to keep on creating and loving my family. I will keep this note forever.

I also added 2 Tinies to my collection. I realized that I truly am fasinated by the 1" scale dioramas and goodies to be made. So, please welcome my two little ladies....Hannah and Lilly.

Lilly (on the left) is an Ara Adonis BJD by J'aime. She is a special edition called CryBaby. Her sister is Hannah. She is a PukiFee BJD by Fairyland.

So far, I've made Lilly a little outfit and both received a handmade mohair wig. The wigs came out better than I expected, but still need some tweeking.

I titled this segment of my blog as "Starting the Year on the Right Foot". Well, I meant it literally. I had my left foot operated on this past Thursday (yesterday) and have been hobbling around. DH and family are under strict orders to keep me still and off my feet for 5 whole days! Ugh!

Day 1 of confiment has resulted in a knit lacy scarf for Belén. I'll take a photo next time I escape and post it here. I'm also working on a crochet Ear Flap hat for Will.

Meanwhile, I'm counting down the days and trying not to think about my bottom getting any bigger. DH promises me it's not. (I think I'll keep him! LOL!)
